Equipment Maintenance Technician II-Charlie Shift
- Thursday-Saturday 7a-7p
Department: Maintenance | Division: Operations
Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Maintenance Technician II to support critical operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and keeping production equipment running at peak performance. You'll play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting safety initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties associated with Equipment Maintenance Technician I, with increased autonomy and complexity
- Follow all work instructions, SOPs, and safety/quality standards consistently
- Conduct preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing devices such as voltmeters and other tools
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on CNC machines and production equipment
- Maintain facility systems including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and general infrastructure
- Support coolant systems, scrap management processes, and shop floor organization
- Maintain clean and safe workspaces, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards
- Assist with 6S initiatives including signage, labeling, and workplace organization
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Fabricate parts, align components, and perform precision measurements using specialized tools
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Track and document maintenance schedules and completed work
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and repair structural items such as crates, frames, and tables as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing pumps, motors, bearings, shafts, and spindles
- Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machines, servo motors, and control systems
- Proficiency with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, laser tools)
- Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures
- Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and various hand/power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent technical training
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows
- Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (6S, Lean, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and working around industrial equipment
- Exposure to noise, machinery, chemicals, and manufacturing conditions
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency call-ins as needed
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
