Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer
Job Description
Our client, a Global Leader in the Medical Device Industry has an immediate opening for a Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer for a 12 Month + Contract Opportunity. The Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer will be responsible for driving and executing site specific EHS programs in accordance with the corporate EHS policies and programs and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for promoting a positive working environment dedicated to identifying and eliminating hazards, managing risks, and improving the overall quality of life for our employees. You will focus on providing expertise and EHS leadership in support of the site and company business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance of the EHS management system in line with internal and regulatory requirements and lead EHS projects on site as required
- Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to monitor the effectiveness of the EHS management system and highlight any areas for attention/action.
- Maintain regular interaction with site leadership to ensure alignment on priority EHS issues and global EHS objectives and plans to address same.
- Coordinate the Emergency Response Program ensuring the procedures, resources, and training are in place to deal with all likely emergency scenarios on site.
- Prepare EHS reports/metrics for internal and external stakeholders and monitor trends identifying areas requiring action and lead investigations when necessary.
- Assess the EHS impact of proposed changes to plant, process, equipment etc. and identifies actions to ensure compliance and risk control.
- Maintain waste management requirements and environmental monitoring program in line with license requirements.
- Promote and support a culture of accountability and collaboration in relation to safety and environmental performance and expectations.
Job Requirements
What you need
- Bachelor's degree -required
- 4 years of related work experience
- Proven written and verbal communications skills; ability to write clear and concise reports and interact with team members of various levels of the organization and cultures globally required
- Familiarity with coordinating and executing plans to maintain an ISO-certified quality system- preferred.
- Proficient in programs covering areas such as regulatory compliance, risk management, internal auditing and training for employees- preferred.
- AED/CPR and First Aid certified -preferred.
- Experienced managing EH&S regulatory compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and OSAS 18001 Safety Management System -preferred
- Knowledge of labor & industries, WISHA, OSHA, Dept of Ecology, and EPA -preferred
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
