Job Description

Engineering Technician/JR Engineer
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineering Technician to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the design, development, and manufacturing processes of cutting-edge products, with a specific focus on firearm components. You will work closely with engineers, contributing to product development through hands-on technical tasks, data analysis, and rigorous testing. Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Support firearm developmental efforts, including product component design, development, prototyping, and performance measurement.
  • Assist engineers with technical tasks related to manufacturing processes and projects.
  • Set up and prepare equipment for tests, experiments, and manufacturing processes, following provided guidelines.
  • Conduct DOE/ANOVA experiments using statistical software, monitor tests, and document findings accurately.
  • Maintain organized records of experiments, tests, and results for easy accessibility.
  • Apply NPD tools and methodologies throughout the product development process (e.g., FMEA, Weibull, FEA, DFM, DFMA, CAD, Rapid prototyping).
  • Perform root cause analysis on returned products and communicate findings to engineering and quality teams.
  • Compile data summaries and reports, providing clear information to senior personnel.
  • Collaborate with product development engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop quantifiable measurement methods, followed by benchmarking and characterization.
  • Contribute to maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in safety, 6S, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Uphold company values related to integrity, safety, equitable treatment, and a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering REQD
  • Recent College Grads are encouraged to apply 
  • Associates degree in a relevant field or extensive firearm experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Understanding of product development and design, including materials applications, failure analysis, and mechanical testing.
  • Self-driven with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions that meet project constraints.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through written, graphic, and oral methods.
  • Basic understanding of Lean, Kaizen, and Design for Manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and a moderate understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering concepts.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of senior personnel, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, chemicals, and lights/lasers.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required.
