Lead Controls Design Engineer
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for innovation in control systems? Our client is seeking a talented Lead Controls Design Engineer to spearhead a team of hardware and software engineers in developing cutting-edge microcontroller-based control systems. This role emphasizes high-volume, low-cost electronic assembly design, presenting an exciting opportunity to impact the future.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate development costs, timelines, and control system expenses based on product requirements, existing platforms, and team capabilities.
- Recruit, develop, manage, and coach the controls team and external contractors to align with strategic objectives and customer needs.
- Create and manage an annual budget to enhance team performance and resources, ensuring alignment with customer demand.
- Understand key products, application challenges, and performance requirements to recommend control system solutions that improve product performance, customer value, quality, and reliability.
- Manage resources to support internal and external customer needs, competitive analysis, cost reductions, quality improvements, and parts obsolescence.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technology field.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, CE, CSA, etc.
- Experience in high-volume, low-cost design.
- Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma and/or Design for Manufacturability principles.
- Participation in FMEA and design reviews.
