International Logistics & FTZ Coordinator
(Asia Focus & QuestaWeb Specialist)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced International Logistics & FTZ Coordinator to manage and optimize both international and domestic shipping operations, with a primary focus on Asia-origin shipments. The role combines expertise in international logistics, U.S. Customs compliance, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, and QuestaWeb software to ensure efficient and compliant transportation of goods across borders while optimizing cost and performance.
Key Responsibilities
International Shipping Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute shipments from Asia (China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, etc.)
- Select appropriate transportation modes (air, ocean, rail) based on cost, urgency, and cargo requirements
- Track shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve delays or disruptions
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery
FTZ Operations (QuestaWeb)
- Manage daily FTZ transactions using QuestaWeb software
- Process zone admissions, inventory movements, transfers, and withdrawals
- Maintain accurate FTZ inventory records and ensure system integrity
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies within the FTZ
- Generate and maintain FTZ reports in compliance with CBP requirements
Customs & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade regulations
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, B/L, COO, etc.)
- Work closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance
- Classify goods using HTS codes and maintain proper documentation for FTZ compliance
Vendor & Carrier Coordination
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers
- Negotiate rates and service agreements to optimize cost and performance
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain strong working relationships
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align shipping schedules and optimize inventory flow
- Support inventory planning related to international transit times
- Ensure accurate system updates (ERP/WMS/TMS) for shipment status
Cost Control & Optimization
- Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for savings
- Optimize routing, consolidation, and carrier selection
- Maintain shipping budgets and reporting
Issue Resolution
- Address shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies
- Communicate updates to stakeholders and provide solutions quickly
- Manage claims with carriers when necessary
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in international logistics, with direct experience handling Asia shipments
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or FTZ operations
- Hands-on experience with QuestaWeb FTZ software (required or strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, ocean/air freight processes, and U.S. Customs regulations
- Familiarity with trade compliance programs (e.g., HTS classification, duty optimization)
- Experience with freight forwarders and customs brokers
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Effective communication and cross-cultural coordination skills
- Ability to work across time zones (Asia/US coordination)
- Proficiency in ERP/TMS systems, QuestaWeb, Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Asia-based suppliers or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of HTS classification, duty savings strategies, and bonded warehousing
- Familiarity with languages such as Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Korean (a plus)
Work Environment
- Fast-paced logistics and supply chain environment
- Warehouse and office setting
- May require early morning or late evening communication with Asia partners
- Occasional coordination across multiple time zones and departments
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
