Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer will provide engineering and project support to Distribution Centers, driving labor optimization and operational efficiency. This role improves productivity through engineered labor standards, KPI development, data analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position focuses on statistical analysis, operational data, workflow optimization, and visual management tools to enhance labor efficiency and distribution center performance.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Develop, validate, and maintain time-studied engineered labor standards across distribution operations

Drive productivity improvements through KPI tracking, visual management tools, and performance dashboards

Support day-to-day DC performance using data analytics and labor management analysis

Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/CI methodologies

Train operations teams on labor management systems and productivity standards

Develop and document SOPs and ensure training programs are implemented

Evaluate and recommend facility layouts, material handling equipment (MHE), and workflow improvements

Build productivity playbooks incorporating CI principles and enabling technologies

Manage multiple engineering projects with varying priority and business impact

Support performance management processes including leader standard work and productivity reviews


Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Logistics or equivalent)

Experience

3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience

Experience in distribution, warehouse, or logistics environments preferred

Proven experience developing engineered labor standards (MSD/MOST preferred)

Experience with labor management systems and productivity improvement initiatives

Proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning preferred

Experience with semi-automated or fully automated material handling systems a plus.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of warehousing and logistics best practices

Ability to drive decision-making through data and relevant business metrics

Strong analytical, financial, and business planning skills

Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving expertise

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Self-directed and able to work with limited supervision


Travel up to 30%
