Job Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving supplier performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about quality systems, manufacturing standards, and collaborative problem-solving.
This is a dynamic position that blends hands-on quality control, process improvement, and strategic supplier development. You'll have the opportunity to travel (up to 50%) and directly impact product success by driving operational excellence across the supplier network.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on supplier product quality and performance
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and suppliers when nonconforming product is identified
- Review engineering and manufacturing specifications to assess material and process requirements
- Support Strategic Sourcing in identifying and onboarding high-quality vendors
- Plan and conduct supplier quality control audits and assessments
- Interpret and apply relevant manufacturing audits and industry standards, including ISO9001
- Lead or assist supplier-driven process improvement initiatives
- Conduct benchmarking studies to identify best practices and industry trends
- Assist with vendor logistics and manage communications as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in supplier quality or a closely related field
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, ISO9001, and Lean manufacturing principles
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Proficient with ERP systems and intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
