Lead Product Development Projects from Concept Through Production
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team responsible for developing innovative products and components for advanced manufacturing applications. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects throughout the entire product lifecycle, working closely with customers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
The ideal candidate is a driven engineer who enjoys balancing technical problem-solving, customer interaction, product development, and project management responsibilities. This position provides significant ownership of engineering programs while offering exposure to product design, manufacturing processes, validation activities, and customer-facing engineering support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering projects from initial concept through production launch while ensuring project objectives, schedules, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams, sales personnel, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to define product requirements and specifications.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation that meet customer requirements and internal engineering standards.
  • Develop innovative, manufacturable product designs that support customer and business objectives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering support for technical, design, and manufacturing-related challenges.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively communicating status, milestones, risks, and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Escalate project concerns and risks appropriately to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain accurate product development records and support APQP activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop, review, and maintain PPAP documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge across the engineering team.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, competitive products, and manufacturing advancements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development best practices.
  • Travel as required to support customer meetings, project launches, and manufacturing activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2-5 years of engineering experience in product development, project engineering, design engineering, or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of solid modeling and CAD software.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in product development, manufacturing, or automotive-related industries.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and structured product development methodologies.
  • Experience with CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar CAD platforms.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing engineering projects.
  • Understanding of testing, validation, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, laboratory, or production environments.

Work Environment
  • Hybrid work arrangement.
  • Combination of office, engineering, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
  • Frequent interaction with production equipment and engineering workstations.
  • Periodic travel to customer and manufacturing locations as required.
