Job Description
Job Summary:
The shipping & receiving clerk is responsible for handling all incoming/outgoing product in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high-level of quality and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs incoming inspection of various product
- Receive incoming goods, confirm accuracy and route appropriately to shop floor
- Assures all quality control documents are complete and included in outgoing shipments.
- Ensures that materials shipped and received are verified against pertinent documentation
- Responsible for the timely processing of expedited deliveries and shipments
- Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work practices and following safety practice
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Create shipping labels, paperwork, and documentation from ERP system, customer portals, and shipping company website
- Identify parts per internal or customer specifications
- Operate forklift for movement of product to/from shipping to/from trucks/dock
- Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks and/or forklifts
- Actively participate in team meetings and continuous improvement projects
- Meet production/quality requirements
- May be required to cross train and/or assist in other work areas to meet fluctuating work demands
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Create purchase orders for outside services
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or high school equivalency
- Experience in manufacturing shipping/receiving preferred
- Strong customer service attitude
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Excellent organization, communication, and math skills
- Must be a self-motivated individual
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify problems and execute solutions
- Must understand and abide by all confidentiality regulations within the company
- Must be computer literate and have knowledge of Windows and ERP software functions
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
