Job Description
Team Leader – Manufacturing Operations
Our client is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to guide daily production activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on leading from the floor, developing team members, and driving continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency goals are consistently met while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture. Responsibilities
- Champion and lead environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, ensuring a safe work environment at all times
- Supervise and support a team of 5–9 employees, maintaining an effective span of control
- Set, monitor, and achieve daily production goals; provide accurate daily metric reporting
- Lead shift start/end processes, including breaks, and ensure adherence to schedules
- Conduct daily safety meetings and actively engage team members in production targets
- Implement, audit, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Support machining and production processes while ensuring adequate floor coverage
- Troubleshoot operational challenges, prioritize issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing tools
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and teamwork across the operation
- Participate in all required safety training and company-led initiatives
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support operational success
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Manufacturing or related field and 3+ years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role (1–2 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and production workflows
- Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and 8D problem solving
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
