Job Description
If you're the type of technician who doesn't just push 'start' but truly understands what's happening inside the press, this opportunity is worth a closer look. Our client in the Belmont area is adding a 3rd Shift Process Technician to their team-someone who can confidently take ownership of mold setups, dial in processes, and respond quickly when production drifts from standard.
This is a hands-on overnight role for a skilled plastics professional who knows how to balance technical processing knowledge with mechanical aptitude. You'll play a critical part in keeping equipment running safely, efficiently, and consistently while supporting operators and maintaining quality expectations.

What You'll Be Doing
- Perform mold changes and machine setups according to the production schedule.
- Prepare and verify proper hook-up of utilities and auxiliary equipment prior to start-up.
- Establish and adjust processing parameters to achieve stable, repeatable cycles.
- Monitor machines throughout the shift and proactively correct process variation.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and equipment-related issues with a root-cause mindset.
- Support robotic systems and automation tied to molding operations.
- Complete material and color changes as needed.
- Document process adjustments, downtime causes, and performance notes.
- Work cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering to improve uptime and reduce waste.
- Follow all plant safety procedures including lockout/tagout and housekeeping standards.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in plastics or manufacturing is a plus.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding process control.
- Prior experience performing mold setups and machine changeovers independently.
- Strong understanding of resins, tooling, and molding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret prints, setup sheets, and technical documentation.
- Experience working with molding robots or automated equipment.
- Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to work 3rd shift and overtime as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Scientific or decoupled molding training (Master Molder or similar certification).
- Exposure to process validation or capability studies.
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing involvement.
- Experience supporting new tool start-ups or process development.
