Document Management Specialist

Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan's 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Document / Records Management Specialist.
Job Description
Responsible for processing engineering and project records associated with Generation and GAS C&S projects and plant modifications such as drawings, manuals, transmittals, correspondence, requests for information (RFI), and engineering change notices (ECN).
The Document Control Technical Specialist may be assigned to support one or more of the following areas:
- Site Document Control, Plant Document Control, Project Assignment or Engineering Records Center (ERC). Document Control specialists must be able to perform standard routine level tasks (usually under direct supervision) and provide document control support for Projects during construction and close‐out.
- Perform electronic receipt, review and acknowledgement of incoming drawings and documents in preparation for electronic distributions to project personnel.
- Update and maintenance of electronic database used for tracking, transmitting and distributing documents and vendor submittals.
- Maintaining various Logs, distribution and maintenance of hard copy controlled drawings for field personnel (stick files).
- Candidate must also be familiar with Microsoft word applications.
- Ability to carry rolls of prints to various locations. (Use of personal vehicle required but will be reimbursed mileage based on Standard Govt Rates)
- May require lifting and/or carrying heavy loads (Approx. 5‐35 lbs.)
- Must be able to interface, communicate and work with engineers from various disciplines and have the ability to understand engineering documentation needs and requirements.
- Must be willing and able to rely on instruction and pre‐established guidelines to perform various functions of the position.
- On the job training will also be provided.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented and highly motivated.
- Possess an attitude and aptitude to learn new skills and perform new responsibilities.
- The successful candidate will possess good computer skills and ability to learn and use one or more versions of specialized software.

Experience Required: 0 to 2 years' work experience; this is an entry level position.
Experience Preferred:
‐Some work experience in a clerical, administrative or document control role
‐Experience with managing records would be an asset
‐Engineering document control experience is a plus, particularly from a large project setting
‐Strong customer service background
Education Required: High School degree or equivalent
Education Preferred: Some college
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
