Our client a global automotive manufacturing company, is looking for a Director of Sales &Marketing to join their team. This position will be overseeing a handful of plants between WI, West MI and the Detroit area. The position will be based out of the Detroit area but will involve significant travel to the other locations. Therefore, this position could be located in WI or MI.

Position will involve:
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Sales and Marketing will oversee the sales and Total Customer Care and administration of the Sales and Marketing team to increase total sales volume and profitably grow the business. Development and achievement of strategic objectives related to quality, cost, and delivery is imperative to ensure the organization is a Best in Class manufacturer. Partnering with the Leadership, Engineering, and Operations teams. The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead continuous improvement efforts and meet growth targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the sales, account management, and marketing teams, setting strategic goals and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Provide leadership and strategic direction for all supply chain functions while ensuring proper interface with manufacturing, program management, engineering, quality, and sales
Develop and implement customer strategy, incorporating specific targets to pursue
Lead customer business planning process
Develop overall marketing plans and initiatives, branding, image, and market awareness
Perform market research to aid in guiding business decisions for future opportunities
Develop social media and trade show strategies to increase customer base
Actively pursue opportunities for account growth and new business
Responsible for all customer communications and concerns
Ensure compliance with customer deliverables and organizational metrics, such as revenue and profit
Build positive relationships with key internal and external customer groups
Provide timely communication of customer program requirements throughout all internal functional teams
Lead quoting process and sales team for engineering changes and new business opportunities, incorporating organizational strategies and metrics
Ensure accuracy of quotes and contract pricing
Partner with the program management team to maintain continuous knowledge and communication of project status
Communicate customer requirements, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance
Build strong relationships with customers, both internal and external
Maintain a high level of customer service and organizational support
Work closely with all organizational cross-functional teams
Special projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum of fifteen (15) years of successful sales and marketing experience which includes a minimum of five (5) years leading cross-functional sales and marketing teams
10+ years of Tier 1 automotive experience
Minimum of Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field, Master s degree preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, peers, vendors and customers
Proven track record of achieving sales goals and profitability
Established network of contacts and positive relationships with automotive OEM customer base
Proven robust leadership in automotive OEM sales, marketing, and planning for a Tier 1 supplier
Ability to effectively manage change
Critical thinking and reasoning skills, ability to identify weaknesses and strengths of alternative solutions or approaches to opportunities
Experience supporting customers in various industries, experience in an automotive OEM supply environment required
Solid negotiation skills required
Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, ability to develop presentations and track project milestones
Willingness and ability to travel as required
