Job Description
Director, Data Analytics & AI
We are seeking an accomplished Director of Data Analytics & AI to lead the organization's enterprise data, analytics, and artificial intelligence strategy.
This leader will own the enterprise data and AI roadmap, including data governance, master data management, data quality, cloud data platforms, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and enterprise AI adoption.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive and functional leaders to establish priorities, guide investments, build internal capabilities, and ensure the organization's data and AI environment continues to evolve with the business.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both the executive strategy level and the technology/platform level, translating business needs into a scalable, governed, and reliable data environment that delivers measurable results.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Lead the organization's enterprise data strategy, governance framework, master data management, and data quality initiatives, establishing clear ownership, stewardship, standards, definitions, and accountability across business functions.
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's cloud-based enterprise data platform and lakehouse environment, including architecture, scalability, reliability, security, integration, and long-term platform direction. This includes integrating data across ERP, CRM, financial, manufacturing, operational, and cloud-based systems.
Own the organization's enterprise AI strategy and adoption roadmap, identifying and prioritizing AI use cases based on business value, complexity, risk, and organizational readiness. Lead the implementation and governance of enterprise generative AI and LLM technologies while establishing measurable outcomes around adoption, productivity, and ROI.
Oversee enterprise business intelligence, reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics, enabling leaders across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other functions to make more informed, data-driven decisions.
Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary data, analytics, and AI organization, while determining where capabilities should be developed internally versus supported through consulting, technology, or implementation partners.
Serve as the senior leadership partner for data, analytics, and AI strategy, investment, and prioritization, translating complex technical issues into clear business recommendations. Manage the portfolio of data and AI initiatives, budgets, resources, risks, and executive reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, AI, or related disciplines, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience leading data governance, master data management, data quality, cloud data platforms, and enterprise analytics.
- Experience developing or executing an enterprise AI strategy or AI adoption roadmap.
- Proven success building and leading multidisciplinary technical and analytical teams.
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to develop investment cases, manage budgets, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
- Ability to operate comfortably between high-level strategy and detailed technical/platform discussions.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Databricks or another modern lakehouse platform, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, SAP, SQL, and enterprise generative AI/LLM technologies is highly desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline required. MBA, master's degree, or other advanced degree preferred.
