Director of Claims
Onsite Sarasota, FL
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Claims to lead claims operations, drive business development, and expand market presence in the field adjusting industry. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient claims processing, regulatory compliance, and operational scalability while securing new business opportunities with insurance carriers, self-insured entities, TPAs, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims management, business development, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Acquisition:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to secure new contracts with insurance carriers, MGAs, TPAs, self-insured entities, and government agencies.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities through industry networking, conferences, and relationship-building.
- Negotiate service agreements and pricing structures that ensure profitability and competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create tailored proposals, case studies, and promotional materials.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine business strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to drive retention and growth.
Claims Oversight & Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the claims process, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions.
- Implement best practices to enhance claims efficiency and reduce loss adjustment expenses.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing claims operations.
- Leverage technology and process automation to optimize claims workflows.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure claims performance and operational effectiveness.
- Provide leadership to claims managers and adjusters, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Vendor & Adjuster Management:
- Build and maintain a high-performing independent adjuster network for CAT and non-CAT claims.
- Develop strategic partnerships with third-party vendors to enhance claims-handling capabilities.
- Oversee the deployment of adjusters in response to client needs and catastrophe events.
Financial & Profitability Management:
- Develop and manage the claims budget to ensure cost-effective operations and profitability.
- Analyze financial performance, including revenue growth, claims costs, and loss adjustment expenses, to optimize pricing models and service offerings.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through process enhancements and technology integration.
- Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in claims management, with a strong background in field adjusting and property & casualty insurance.
- Proven experience in business development and client acquisition, with a track record of securing contracts with insurance carriers or related entities.
- In-depth knowledge of claims processes, industry regulations, and best practices in independent adjusting.
- Strong negotiation skills for service agreements, pricing models, and strategic partnerships.
- Excellent relationship-building, sales, and networking skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives and decision-makers.
- Experience handling CAT event claims and large-scale deployment of adjusters is a plus.
- Proficiency in claims management software and data analytics for performance tracking and decision-making.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
