 Full-Time | Orlando, FL | Professional Level
Our client is seeking a technically skilled and solution-oriented Data Engineer to join their Information Technology team. This position plays a key role in shaping and modernizing the enterprise data landscape, supporting business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making capabilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data engineering best practices, cloud technologies, and designing systems that make reliable, high-quality data accessible across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and enhance the Guidewire Enterprise Data Warehouse to support accurate, efficient ETL operations.
  • Design and implement scalable data platforms (on-prem or cloud-based) to integrate multiple data sources.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain data models and architecture to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML.
  • Promote data governance, quality, security, and compliance across all data systems.
  • Enable real-time analytics and self-service data environments using modern data stack tools (data lakes, NoSQL, streaming technologies).
  • Collaborate with IT, business units, and analytics teams to ensure alignment of data solutions with business strategy.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist in developing reports for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor task queues and manage work tickets through systems like Jira.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proficient in SQL, Databricks, MS SSIS, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • Skilled in big data technologies and tools such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, and API integration.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and security frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOC2).
  • Experienced with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferences:
  • Deep familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) databases IS A PLUS. NOT REQUIRED.
  • Experience with Data Mesh architecture and MLOps frameworks.
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate certification or higher.
  • Prior work in environments using Atlassian Jira or similar ticketing systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and technology landscapes.
