Customer Quality Engineer

Job Description
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding quality-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted quality advisor.
- Regularly communicate with customers to understand their quality requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on quality performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt resolution of customer quality issues.
- Investigate customer quality concerns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams in analyzing and resolving complex quality issues.
- Utilize various quality tools and methodologies (such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams) to drive problem-solving efforts.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions and verify their successful implementation.
- Proactively identify areas for quality improvement based on customer feedback, internal audits, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans, methodologies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
- Track and report key quality metrics to management and customers, highlighting areas for improvement and progress made.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to customer quality specifications.
- Participate in customer audits and visits, providing necessary documentation, and addressing quality-related inquiries.
- Stay up-to-date with industry quality standards and regulations, anticipating and addressing potential impact on the organization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer quality interactions, investigations, and actions taken.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop clear and concise quality documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing quality role within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive quality standards and methodologies (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
