Job Description
Our client, a manufacturing company in Spartanburg SC is actively looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join their team! The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring our manufacturing costs and providing valuable insights to optimize our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze manufacturing costs, identify variances, and recommend improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and present them to management.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure accurate and timely cost accounting data.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accurate cost projections.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
