Job Description
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing sector, is on the lookout for a Corporate Cost Estimator to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role is at the heart of driving the company's financial efficiency and product development strategy. By bridging the gap between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams, the Corporate Cost Estimator plays a crucial role in developing accurate product costs and supporting the company's growth through strategic business case analysis. Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key partner to the Business Development team, aiding in the costing of new business ventures.
- Collaborate closely with functional teams to refine product cost models.
- Assess internal assumptions regarding manufacturing processes, engineering efforts, and material requirements.
- Contribute to capital planning through thorough capacity and utilization analysis.
- Participate in the annual development process of costing rates, influencing financial strategies.
- Educate the organization on the determinants of product cost and strategies for total cost optimization.
- Assist Purchasing in conducting Make/Buy analyses, driving cost-effective decision-making.
- Gain and share comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, promoting best business practices.
- Create and present executive-level reports, offering strategic insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
- Identify and implement enhancements in financial processes, reporting tools, and analytical methodologies to boost operational efficiency.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting functions, ensuring financial preparedness and strategic alignment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of cost estimating/analysis quoting or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of overall experience within a manufacturing environment
- Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, enabling sophisticated data analysis and compelling presentations.
