Job Description
Are you a skilled Controls Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, project management, and sales teams to create electrical schematic and controls designs. Based in Holland, Michigan, this is an exciting opportunity to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and duration. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate electrical designs for manufacturing projects.
- Manage multiple electrical design projects simultaneously, balancing complexity and timelines.
- Utilize a solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems in the design and implementation process.
- Conduct PLC programming and support the development of control systems.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
- Interpret and apply knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams in control system design.
- Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation throughout the design process.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical is essential.
- Strong electrical design and drawing skills; experience with other software may be considered depending on relevance.
- In-depth knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in design work.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control system programming.
- Solid understanding of NEC and NFPA code requirements.
- Ability to interpret pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in the electrical field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to work with internal teams and clients.
