Job Description
- The Controller leads all day-to-day accounting operations and supervises the accounting team members. The Controller ensures that procedures are in place to support effective controls and conduct flawless audits. This role performs analysis for ad hoc projects. The Controller works closely with organizational leaders and their staff, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the accounting function can support department operations.
- Lead direct reports in recording and reviewing accounting operations transactions and preparing monthly reconciliations of GL accounts to ensure that balances are reasonable and accurately stated.
- Identify and lead process improvement projects and business initiatives.
- Support annual audits with internal and external auditors.
- Support Annual and Mid-Year Planning Cycles.
- Support monthly and quarterly consolidating reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive finance & accounting experience
- Experience with technical accounting research and a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
- Comfortable communicating, and the ability to clearly articulate information to all levels of the organization verbally and in written form
- Ability to communicate technical financial information to non-finance individuals
- Has balanced professional skepticism and good judgment to determine appropriate and supportable accounting conclusions
- Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently and work efficiently
- Manufacturing, distribution, or related industry experience
- CPA background preferred
