Job Description

Our client is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer.  This is an onsite, Direct Hire opportunity with the potential of going to a hybrid work week.

The location is just North of Lowell, MI
 
Must-Have:
  • Technical sales support is required 
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  •  Associates Degree in CAD or Engineering or 2+ Years of Previous Job Related Experience
  • Quality Control/ Statistics
  • ISO Knowledge/ Experience
  • Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication Skills
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with MRPII
  • Knowledge of Composite Materials

Responsible for the creation of manufacturing drawings and CNC programs using the provided CAD/CAM software. Assist the engineering team in setting up new parts for incoming orders. Manage, organize, and continually improve the CAD library on the engineering Vault and websites. Technical sales support is required.

  • Generate accurate CAD drawings/models of parts for new orders based on quoted product
  • Generate accurate CNC programs from 3D model and/or 2D AutoCAD drawing
  • Interfaces with suppliers/vendors as needed to ensure accurate processing of new orders
  • Excellent print/drawing reading skills
  • Management and continuous improvement of the CAD library
  • Control handling of CNC programs from the server to CNC machines
  • Monitor, document, and control any changes made to drawings and/or CNC programs (ECR/ECN)
  • Monitor, document, and control CNC fixtures, ability to manage development of new fixtures needed
  • Assist the engineering team as needed
  • Interface with customer/distributor/rep as needed to assist in technical support when required
  •  Assist Sales/ Marketing in activities such as sales promotions, training, market research, planning, and executing special projects
  • Support New Product Development activities as needed
  • Stays aware of market activities including all potential competitors
  • Maintains design standard
  • Maintains ECN/ECR systems in CHESS
  • Understanding of engineering principles, terms and meaning
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing and quality standards, including training Supervisors, leads, and line people in improving quality control methods
  •  All department processes and procedures are documented and the appropriate individual(s) are trained and cross-trained as necessary

Job Requirements

Technical Skills:
  • Microsoft Office Proficient
  • Auto CAD/ CAD Software 3D Minimum, Inventor Preferred
  • CNC Programming

Highly autonomous. Works primarily with Engineers, Plant Manager, Operations Staff, Managers, Outside Consultants and Quality Control Personnel, Vendors
