Buyer - Electronic Components
Overview:
Are you ready to take your procurement expertise to the next level? Join our dynamic team as a Buyer specializing in electronic components. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for procuring custom electronic components critical to our programs, collaborating closely with Engineering, and ensuring we maintain cost-effective, high-quality, and timely supplies. Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Source electronic components from suppliers capable of meeting or exceeding our cost, quality, and delivery standards.
- Interpret MRP Output: Translate requirements from MRP output into actionable orders to support our manufacturing needs.
- Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate inventory levels by making timely adjustments to quantities and delivery dates in response to changing requirements.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with suppliers to reduce lead times and streamline the supply pipeline.
- Cost Negotiation: Negotiate favorable pricing for materials to optimize cost efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure materials supplied meet our stringent quality and supplier documentation requirements.
- Responsive Procurement: Improve reaction time to changing requirements through effective interaction with MRP changes.
- Preventing Shortages: Eliminate materials shortages that may hinder manufacturing execution.
- Supplier Base Optimization: Maintain a well-balanced supplier base by identifying and engaging the optimum number of suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of relevant buying experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
- Innovative, detail-oriented, with a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and management reporting requirements.
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
Ability to obtain a Government security clearance if required.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
