Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Unit (BDU) Specialist-Hybrid
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a dedicated Business Development Unit (BDU) Specialist to enhance their premier national agency relationships and support the growth of new business initiatives. This role is crucial in providing both transactional and administrative support, focusing on nurturing client relationships, and ensuring smooth operational processes within the BDU. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of analytical and interpersonal skills, thriving in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, particularly with national high-volume production accounts.
  • Analyze, follow, and enhance procedures while maintaining accurate transactional documentation.
  • Address and resolve practical problems, escalating complex issues to supervisors as necessary.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies in procedures and policies to management.
  • Ensure a positive market presence and focus on new business customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret and execute a variety of instructions provided in multiple formats.
  • Process new business transactions, endorsements, and documentation within designated authority levels.
  • Manage the indexing and routing of inbound BDU documents, including faxes and emails, into the image system.
  • Support community analysis processes and maintain strong relationships with high-profile distribution partners.
  • Process targeted new business production, book rolls, and specialized opportunities efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support team objectives and business development goals.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferable post-secondary education in business operations or insurance.
  • Minimum of five years related experience in a business development or insurance role.
  • Proficiency in the Guidewire platform and a solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to type at a minimum speed of 50 WPM.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and support multiple time zones.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and training.
Preferences:
  • Previous experience in high-volume business environments.
  • Familiarity with processing and documentation of insurance-related transactions.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.
  • Candidates with 2-20 or 440 Licenses will be given preference.
