BI Systems Architect

A large part of this role will be understanding the big picture, working with the business teams and helping drive the overall analytics strategy.
As a Business Intelligence Systems Architect, you will work with best in class business intelligence tools such as
Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI, QlikView and SAP' s Hana Data Platform to model data, build reporting and analytics solutions and enable users to make data driven decisions and improve the overall results at a team, department and organizational level.
Expert knowledge in data modeling, data visualization, reporting and advanced analytics with the above-mentioned tools is a plus.
Applies team management for system-wide, cross-functional team that analyzes and designs techniques to support complex computer systems components or projects to produce innovative business intelligence solutions for variety of problems. Guides team to gather information from users to define work problems and plan projects accordingly, enabling analysts and programmers to develop required systems. Troubleshoots complex problems and recommends appropriate actions; may be called upon to solve highly technical, complex problems or consult on other projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
: Guides project team and provides direction for new or revised computer systems/applications technology to ensure user communities' requirements are met. Plans and manages integration and implementation of new technology.
: Leads team that analyzes user project proposals, identifies omissions and errors in requirements, and conducts feasibility studies. Recommends optimum approach and develops system design for approved projects to ensure solutions accurately reflect customer' s requirements.
: Develops new and maintains existing complex systems and subsystems, such as inventory control, payroll, or financial/cost analysis, in which transactions are automatically processed through full system of records to ensure reliability of cross-company applications.
: Serves as arbitrator among system users when conflicts arise to ensure system reflects requirements of all system users.
: Uses all phases of system analysis concepts, techniques, and methods; knowledge of available system software, computer equipment and regulations, structure, techniques, and management practices of one or more subject areas to ensure high-quality design of complex systems or subsystems.
: Reviews design, analysis, and code to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
: Leads design subgroup, directing and integrating work of analysts, each responsible for several programs, to ensure optimal design of systems solutions.
: Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems to ensure understanding of all available solution options.
: Regularly provides project reports to senior management to provide accurate and up-to-date project status information. Has authority to make project-related decisions, including appropriate headcount; negotiates deliverables with clients.
: Prepares and gives presentations to user management. Travels overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, to support customer needs.
: Provides on-call support on evenings and weekends as necessary and problem resolution for computer applications to ensure maximum availability.
: Utilizes personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse extensively while performing functions of position.
: Bachelor' s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
: Two years formal education from technical school, college, or certification program in computer science, computer information systems, or computer systems engineering AND two years experience developing and maintaining software.
: Four years experience designing, developing, and maintaining software.
: Eight years experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified, including experience developing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and utilizing Business Objects and five years application (i.E., Systems, Applications, Processes [SAP] or Swing) experience.
Skills and Knowledge
: Expert knowledge of broad range of relevant alternative computer systems, applications, and equipment (Business Objects Developer, Data Integrator Developer, SAP Business Warehouse, and SAP Business Intelligence).
: Ability to write complex, detailed Structured Query Language (SQL), utilizing Oracle, SQL Server, or Database2 applications.
: Working knowledge of Qlikview Developer, data modeling, and design solutions.
: Working knowledge of architecture and performance optimization preferred.
: Ability to develop and/or modify and adapt systems, hardware configurations, and programs to meet individually specified needs.
: Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
: Ability to analyze and interpret information systems proposals and evaluate and develop alternative implementation plans.
: Ability to interpret and evaluate client informational needs and determine appropriate alternative solutions.
