Job Description

Our client, a prominent figure in the manufacturing sector, is actively searching for a dedicated Automation Technician to bring their expertise to a team that values innovation and efficiency. This role centers around maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, and custom automation machinery. If you have a passion for technology and a drive to enhance production processes through automated solutions, this position offers a stimulating environment where your skills will directly contribute to the operational success of the facility.
 
  • System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Regularly perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on PLCs, automation robotics, and bespoke automation units to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Automation Improvements: Work closely with the engineering team to identify opportunities for automation enhancements, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions that boost efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaboration & Support: Engage in collaborative projects with various departmental teams, offering technical automation support and sharing insights to optimize production workflows.
  • Preventative Measures: Implement rigorous preventative maintenance schedules for all automation equipment, aiming to foresee and mitigate potential malfunctions before they impact production.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all activities are thoroughly documented, maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards regarding automation system operations and safety protocols.
  • Continual Learning: Stay abreast of advancements in automation and robotics technology, advocating for the adoption of cutting-edge tools and practices that can elevate the facility's manufacturing capabilities.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • A.S. in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, and automation systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to automated machinery.
  • Solid understanding of electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and automation software.
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with engineering and production departments.
Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of specific PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with CAD software for automation system design and modification.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development in automation technologies and methodologies.
