Our client, a Global Medical Device Manufacture has an immediate opening for a Associate Product Development Engineer for a 12 Month Contract. Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)

Work as development partner with the product development group, under the guidance from senior product safety engineers evaluate new products & existing product modifications to the applicable requirements of safety standards as relevant for the design of medical equipment.
Support product development team with the technical understanding of the required safety standards during the design & development.
Carry out and organize design analysis to support the development of products within the boundaries of safety standards. Partner with R&D on identification, analysis, and implementation of design elements relevant for product safety.
Coordinate safety testing, internal and at 3rd party labs, to ensure safety compliance.
Follow up on root cause analysis and implement due diligence actions to resolve product issues.
Serve as an interface and facilitator between internal development teams and UL, Intertek, and other regulatory agencies as needed.
This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently and with guidance from the senior product safety engineers.
This position requires professional mastery and technical versatility that typically requires a college degree or equivalent. Job requires a good understanding of the engineering concepts & principles. The job requires the ability to make judgements based on practice and previous experience.


Bachelor s degree in technical discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred)
2+ years of experience in any industry, medical preferred
Have understanding of new product development process and engineering process flow
Able to follow instructions and carry out tasks as instructed
Good with following up on tasks and keeping team informed on activities status
Exposure to work with standards and regulations
Being highly organized and capable of tracking multiple tasks/activities through various stages of execution
Strong communication, planning & organization skills with great work ethic.
Highly initiative and driven to get things done
Being a resourceful, hands-on, problem solving individual
Able to travel to 3rd party test labs to oversee/support product safety testing there as needed
Good interpersonal communication skills.
