Our client in the Grand Rapids, MI area is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join their team!
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for a variety of accounting and administrative functions including accounts payable, account reconciliation, processing vendor invoices, scanning and filing of documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Verify invoice accuracy and enter invoices into computer system for payment.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve problems with vendors, buyers, managers, etc.
File vendor invoices in organized and timely manner
Work with internal staff to support accounts payable and invoicing.
Assist with other administrative activities that support overall accounting functions.
Support department needs by performing other functions to maintain efficient and effective operations including cross-functional back up of essential tasks.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting and CFO
Working knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles, accounting software and related spreadsheet applications
Experience in retail or distribution environment is preferred
Solid Experience with computers and software applications, email, internet, and database applications
High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills required.
High level degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
