AWS CloudOps Specialist
Job Description
Our client, a Global Consumer Appliance Manufacturer, has an immediate opening for an AWS CloudOps Specialist for a 6 Month + Contract to Hire opportunity.

Our client is working to enable innovation at scale using cloud-based (AWS) technologies. You will work in a flexible environment with various teams - Product, Architecture, Development and Engineering to build, test, and deploy applications in AWS using AWS CDK, CloudFormation. You will help introduce new concepts and technology in order to grow and improve this firm's CloudOps capabilities.
Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)
- Automating deployments of infrastructure components using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, TypeScript, VSCode and GitHub.
- Migrating Microsoft Windows servers to AWS using the AWS Application Migration Service.
- 1-2+ years of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration, and automated deployment and management using GitHub and AWS components with CDK. Terraform is a plus.
- 1-2+ years designing and implementing continuous delivery and/or DevOps solutions and architecture patterns.
- Networking experience in AWS, ie. DNS, VPCs, Routing, NAT, VPNs, etc.
- Experience writing and developing AWS IAM policies.
- Familiar with AWS CDK Cloud Infrastructure automation with TypeScript. Account Factory for Terraform (AFT) is a plus. Azure DevOps for tracking delivery work is a plus.
- Cloud Monitoring tooling from AWS like CloudWatch and CloudTrail. Vendor packages such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc., is a plus.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience of 6+ years preferred
- Associate degree/AWS Certified DevOps Analyst with 2+ years of work experience as a minimum
- 2+ years experience working with AWS and migrating on-prem systems to the Cloud
- AWS Certified DevOps
- Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, TypeScript, VSCode, GitHub
- AWS Application Migration Service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative Agile environment
- Aptitude and eagerness to learn a new environment and make an impact quickly
- Ability to manage and foster change
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
