Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan s 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Testing Engineer.

DUTIES:

The Testing Engineer will be responsible for developing test packages and executing them by providing direction to Testing Technicians. These test packages will typically be for newly installed or modified electrical switchgear or Motor Control Centers with local and PLC controls. The successful candidate will be comfortable working hands-on in an industrial environment, where the systems that are being tested are on live equipment and working with Plant Operations will be common. Typical devices encountered will be; Low Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), protective and control relays, meters, transformers, transducers i.E.; pressure, temperature and flow transmitters, compressor controls, etc.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUATION:

This position requires someone who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic and is extremely self-motivated. Further, the position requires someone with a dedicated interest in the improving of existing electrical systems, equipment and compressor controls and monitoring. The position also requires the ability to work successfully in a diverse team environment and with employees of varying technical skills and grade levels. More specifically, the following are required or desired, as noted:

Strong analytical skills are required.
Good clear oral and written communications skills and customer relations skills are required.
Prior MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word skills are required.
Prior experience with Low Voltage control, Industrial Instrumentation and Compressor Control Systems is desired.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and SCADA systems is desired.
Bachelor' s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with emphasis on low voltage controls and industrial instrumentation or minimum of 10 years experience in this environment or a related field.
