Our client, a manufacturing company here in the Grand Rapids area is looking for a Test Engineer to join their team.

SUMMARY
Assist in the implementation activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of engineering and quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Analyze and interpret control charts including reliability.
? Perform product testing including reliability and durability.
? Perform material tests on purchased products.
? Assist in problem solving (customer and company). Assist in maintaining the preventative maintenance program for test equipment.
? Create, document, and distribute test documents.
? Work with engineering on product analysis.
? Assists in the execution and maintenance of all quality systems and procedures.
? Maintain standards, specifications, and testing instruction.
? Assist in training company employees in lab maintained programs.
? Conduct failure analysis of failed product from internal and external sources. Write comprehensive reports of results.
? Provide significant input in test method design and test fixture design.
? Perform rudimentary testing to support corporate R&D efforts.
? Ability to travel to customers, suppliers and venders via car, train or plane, as necessary.
? You have the authority and responsibility to stop working when a quality problem is detected and/or suspected.
? Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
? Ability to get along well with others.
? Adhere to company policies and procedures.
? Any other job related duties assigned by supervisor or management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate' s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment. Knowledge of test equipment. Ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge/use of SPC.
