Our client, a Global Medical Device Manufacture has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer for a 6 Month + Contract. Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)

Researches, prepares and edits complex technical documents. Ensures documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style. Interfaces with writers, illustrators, word processors, and subject matter experts in coordinating and preparing the edited draft. Participates in the publishing of formatted documentation in various media. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technical subject matter as assigned. Participates as member of project team. Tracks project documentation through creation, approval, publication, and update lifecycle.


Experienced in writing, some experience in graphic design and development of artwork/images, experienced in document control -- with part of that experience in a regulated industry.
Experienced in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Some experience with Adobe Frame Maker, Photo Shop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro Extended, InDesign preferred.
Experienced in preparing Engineering Change Notices/ Change Requests.
Highly preferred: experience in PTC Windchill Document Management System.
Experienced in modifying Quality System documents that govern Design Control processes.
Prefer experience in leading teams to create technical documentation and quality system documentation.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a high volume, quick paced environment
Demonstrated detail orientation
Demonstrated organization, communication and interpersonal skills
Drives the creation/refinement of departmental and quality system SOPs, Work Instructions, and Forms/Templates that have considerable graphics content. Creates communication and training materials that can be used by self or others to convey new or changed processes.
Coordinates activities with external vendors for translations and graphics as needed.
Develops and maintains divisional and corporate style guides
Mines and consolidates data from business systems, compilations of information, and Quality records. Organizes and places raw data into usable tables or effective graphics.
Plans documents and creates the draft or framework of a document for technical staff. Reviews written materials for technical staff to make suggestions or corrections to make a document more clear and concise.
