Sr. Purchasing Agent

Our client, a Global Leader in the Medical Device Industry has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent for a 6 month + Contract. Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)
Understands and documents business requirements.
Identifies and vets potential vendors.
Negotiates price and terms for services, materials, equipment, and/or supplies from vendors.
Formalize agreements according to company policy.
Monitors vendor compliance with contract terms and product or service specifications.
Identifies and realizes opportunities for cost reduction. Participates in internal control processes.
Buyer activities such as cutting PO s, checking up on orders, assisting with invoice resolution, inventory reconciliation.
Having planning experience working with or assisting supply planning team would be a plus.
Data analysis and data cleansing support may be requested to support our new ERP launch.
Data entry at Go-live to support activities.
3 years of experience and a Bachelors degree are required for this position.

This contractor needs to be someone who can hit the ground running. They will take on buying activities to support the team: Cutting PO s, checking in with suppliers on delivery, resolving invoices and inventory issues. They should have solid experience as a Buyer to be able to pick up the basic day-to-day buying activities quickly.
Duration of this position is 6 months, full-time employment could be considered based on outstanding employee performance and headcount.
