Summary of Position

This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others. The role is responsible for managing subordinates in professional jobs or managing through subordinate managers / supervisors or is a leader of process that achieves results through others, whom are not direct reports.

Designs, validates and brings new products to market. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design' s overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability. Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Multi-site, multi-divisional responsibility for leaders, project managers & engineers tasked with the commercialization of new products & platform technologies in line with divisional portfolios.
Ensures timely delivery of high quality, innovative new products and technologies through close collaboration with our divisional business partners & GQO, thus enabling the Corporation to win in the marketplace.
Drives adherence to divisional / corporate design control procedures.
Key member of AO leadership team. Formulate and implement strategic plans to help drive the overarching strategic plan and future direction of the organization.
Be an effective partner across all functions within divisional and Global Quality organizations to deliver associated new products in line with divisional pipelines. Participate in and lead a cross functional/divisional business forums and process improvement initiatives.
Responsible for directing the teams to work effectively and build collaborative relationships with product development across multiple divisions and with the manufacturing operations to improve the speed to market of new products, utilizing the new product processes and global advanced operations procedure.
Ensure a culture of collaboration exists between the Advanced Operations NPI teams across the campus to ensure that key skill sets can be leveraged when required to ensure all projects are managed effectively and delivered in line with divisional expectations.
Develop detailed understanding of best practice in product launch performance within the Medical Device industry.
Develop skills matrix in line with product road maps identifying the necessary training and coaching for team members to ensure that technical and team based skills are acquired, applied and maintained by team members.
Prepare and deliver annual budgets (headcount, expense and capital) for final review and approval. Approval authority for personnel requisitions and capital expenditure requests.
Provide direction to the team in complex or difficult situations, remove obstacles, assign appropriate resources and interface with other functions to assist with issue resolution.
Partner with HR in identifying, acquiring top talent while developing and retaining talent within the team.
Establish priorities imparting a sense of urgency and importance to effectively deliver new products per quality, cost and time constraints.
Responsible for the implementation, enforcement and compliance of all relevant quality, regulatory and safety standards.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in related field
10+ or more years related experience
Must have managerial experience with program and process setup for new product and process development.
