Our client, a manufacturing company in the Grand Rapids area is looking for a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join their team.
1st, 2nd and 3rd shift openings.
The position will involve:
Confirming the goods are shipped via correct transport company.
Preparing goods for shipment confirming accuracy of goods. Also by affixing correct address labels. Ensure to scan the labels on each container.
While loading goods on truck, double-check to confirm accuracy of shipment.
Ensure that dispatcher of trucking company has been called for pick-up when required.
Ensuring that documents are correct and have carrier sign shipping documents/ login and forward to shipping office.
Ensuring that no skids are shipped with hold tags without special written instructions.
Ensuring that all products is available and inform Materials Manager at earliest possible time if there is a problem of shortage.
Following all lean, 5-S and TS procedures
Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities
Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow.
Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
Conferring with Manager to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers
To ensure and oversee that all merchandise received is in good condition and with accurate documents in collaboration with Purchasing
Checking incoming goods for accuracy and quality.
Checking packing slip for accuracy.
All damaged goods must be reported to Q.C./Purchasing Dept. Before unloading truck.
Any shipments that do not match documentation must be signed by the driver.
Upon receipt of goods they must be moved to proper location in plant.
When shipments are received that need to go to an individual person, notify that individual immediately.
Ensure that goods are placed in proper location of warehouse in a neat and orderly manner to supply Production Department with goods as needed.
Assist in taking an accurate physical inventory of all goods - finished, unfinished, components, etc.
Assist in spot-checking as required, physical inventory counts of finished, unfinished and
Ensure there are no quality, shipping or receiving interruptions or errors due to your lack of giving or seeking information.
Inform Manager and/or Q.A. When quality problems occur.
Ensure that all lift trucks are functioning correctly by:
Checking oil, radiator fluid and brake fluid every day.
Checking air filter once a month.
Ensuring that moving parts are free of foreign objects.
Report malfunctions to the Maintenance Department.
