Our client, a manufacturing company in the Grand Rapids area is looking for a Process Engineer to join their team.
This position is responsible for process development and controls to produce the highest quality molded products and molding process systems for products produced in our facility. Persistently strive for continuous improvements and on-time delivery of defect free product.
Establish process parameters and process documentation for new tooling and/or equipment.
Provide technical support and training to plant personnel, as needed.
Work with and train die setters and utility personnel to ensure best molding practices are understood and adhered to while on the molding production floor.
Monitor die sets and average times.
Assist in scrap reduction projects
Track usage and flow of raw regrind/reprocessed materials for effective processes to produce a quality product.
Perform scheduled process audits in areas responsible per procedural requirements.
Complete scrap reduction, cycle time optimization and other molding related continuous improvements while maintaining quality and product flow.
Identify root cause of quality defects and efficiency issues and put corrective actions in place through training and documentation.
Bachelor s degree in an Engineering field
3+ years of plastics process engineering experience
Extensive hands on processing knowledge
Extensive knowledge of injection molding tooling
Process/troubleshooting knowledge of paintable and grained product
Experience in production supervision and/or leadership a plus
Must have good attendance record
