Our client, a manufacturing company along the West Michigan Lake Shore, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and document processes using equipment, tooling, and material handling
Perform CNC programming; new program development as well as program maintenance
Create and maintain the layout of the work area associated with assembly production.
Work with cross functional team to ensure processes to meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery metrics.
Work method evaluation, preparation and modification of documented work instructions
Write Scopes of Work (SOW), detailed presentations, and financial justification for the procurement of capital equipment.
Specify tools, gages, fixtures and any related support equipment for assigned areas of responsibility.
Interface with vendors on problem resolution, design and build.
Train additional employees on proper execution of work instructions as needed.
Analyze new product quotes and provide cost estimates
Support production by resolving process, productivity and quality problems using Lean Sigma techniques.
Bachelor' s degree in Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience required
Availability for occasional overtime and/or travel
Ability to read machining and assembly prints
Understanding of bill of materials and processes.
Knowledge of CAD models and programs in AutoCAD.
Ability to make technical decisions, complete project objectives within budget and schedule, and work with little supervision.
Ability to track metrics and report status of engineering activities.
Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office applications and ability to write engineering failure analysis reports.
