This role will serve in the corporate and global accounting function, which spans the globe, includes over 100 legal entities, operates across 6 continents and 20 time zones, and processes transactions in over 30 foreign currencies. Supports the corporate and global accounting function through: analysis & review of select accounts and accounting transaction cycles; preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations; monitoring compliance with global accounting processes & policies; ensuring accurate and timely closing and reporting; ensuring accurate accounting & financial reporting, end-to-end documentation of accounting workflows and transaction cycle details.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process.
Maintain global or regional subject matter expertise of select accounting areas.
Assists in the evaluation of existing policies and procedures and compliance therewith.
Maintains a thorough understanding of current and new finance and accounting programs and initiatives; makes recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
Provides financial and technical support to management.
Gathers and analyzes financial data during the closing/reconciliation/reporting/budget/forecast process.
Generates ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management.
Gathers and analyzes data reflected in the company' s financial statements ensuring it is stated properly and reflects accurate information.
Communicates issues, project status and other applicable information to management.
Completes special projects as assigned by management.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while utilizing creative capabilities, thought leadership, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking.
Supervises local and international colleagues
Education & Licensing:
Bachelor' s degree in accounting, finance or business administration from an accredited college or university required. Professional designations such as CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, CISA are desired but not required.
Accounting or related business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 3+ years of public or corporate accounting preferred.
Demonstrated track record of critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, thought leadership, and progressive professional responsibilities.
Skills & Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of US accounting principles, procedures and relevant regulations; Thorough understanding of accounting standards and procedures for consolidation of entity financial statements
Advanced understanding of application of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to major accounting transaction cycles. Especially as applied to intercompany transactions and eliminations, consolidation, and accounting for foreign exchange transactions.
Experience with SAP/BPC, Concur, Ariba, Kyriba and/or other accounting information systems
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills, documentation of complex business transaction cycles and accounting flows
