Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)

The Financial Analyst supports Business Unit Finance with providing its stakeholders timely and relevant financial information and decision support including planning and analysis related to the ongoing results of the business, cost/expense analyses, and monthly/quarterly/ad hoc financial reporting. The incumbent will also assist management with ensuring accurate books and records are maintained at all times by preparing necessary journal entries, account reconciliations and audit reports as well as contribute to general and financial accounting projects.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and assist in preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare and assist in preparation and consolidation of monthly Financial Statements and projections, including flash reporting, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
Prepare intercompany billings and record related transactions according to corporate policy
Maintain accurate, complete and well-documented financial records and positions while ensuring compliance with Stryker general accounting policies and USGAAP
Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end schedules
Support the internal and external audit process through preparation of audit documentation and responding to inquiries
Provide the Business Unit with financial and business support through the review of business expenditures and analysis of new business opportunities
Interpret reports and records for others, including management
May conduct periodic and/or special studies/analysis
Complete projects, duties, and ad-hoc analysis as requested

Minimum Qualifications:

General accounting knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
Highly analytical problem solver with the ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and deliver high quality results
Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to work effectively as a team player
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, financial project management, and prioritize workload
Strong attention to detail, delivering a high level of accuracy and reliability
High degree of customer service orientation
Knowledge of J.D. Edwards (general ledger), SAP, and/or SQL is a plus
