Seeking DBA candidates more on the infrastructure side versus application/development.
Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the databases at the enterprise level. Actively participates in the planning, development and resolution of problems related to the administration of databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the database management systems, their infrastructure, and SQL.
Identifies, configures and controls user data security accesses, permissions and privileges.
Monitors and maintains database performance by performing routine monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning. Troubleshoots database problems; escalating problems to vendor as needed.
Directly implements the conceptual requirements in the databases.
Refines the logical design to be translated into a standard data model and aligning the physical design of the database.
Designs, maintains and implements the physical model for " Data Warehouse" with all the necessary elements.
Documents databases, including adherence to the best practices, procedures and definitions of the data dictionary.
Documents, develops and analyzes disaster recovery processes. Participates in trials and / or planning of them at the business level. Ensures compliance with the requirements identified in the business continuity plan.
Develops, manages and tests database backup and recovery plans.
Capacity planning of database environments for production, testing and development. Ensures adequate storage of all elements and their dependencies, including the proper functioning of any backup detail.
Works with project managers, programmers and web developers on assigned projects.
Maintains communication with business and technical personnel to ensure the integrity of the databases and their security.
Designs and document the architecture of the database environments.
Verifies that the best practices of Data Models are carried out.
Implements the objects according to the specifications provided with databases.
Creates the scripts, utilities and reports at the operational level for maintenance tasks or processes for the databases.
Creates, tests and executes data management procedures. Analyzes and sustains performance and capacity requirements.
Analyzes, consolidates and intonate the databases to obtain greater efficiencies. Monitors systems and platforms to ensure an adequate level of availability.
Supervises the backups, the " cluster", the " mirroring", the replication and the " fail over" of the databases.
Restores and recovers corrupt databases.
Installs and tests updates and patches, implement security and encryption.
Provides emergency technical support whenever the company requires it.
Evaluates and recommends new database technologies.
Performs other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor' s degree in Information Systems and minimum of four (4) years of experience in installation, configuration, analysis and performance of databases, their components and related technologies, or combination of education and equivalent experience required.
7+ years of experience and knowledge in support of production environment with focus on technical support " in-house" for technical and non-technical personnel at the company level.
7+ years of experience in the monitoring, analysis and maintenance of health and availability of databases in SQL.
Knowledge of two or more ETL and DB reporting tools, such as SSRS/SSIS, Cognos, SQL Developer, Access, Excel, etc. Preferred.
Proven ability in identifying problems and resolving production opportunities.
Ability to simultaneously manage several organizational projects with different levels of complexity.
Ability to make decisions under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Self-taught capacity; maintains updated knowledge of tools, technical processes and practices to improve the performance of its functions
