Tax Analyst
Job Description
Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan's 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Tax Analyst.
The tax analyst will prepare personal property tax, sales and use tax, excise tax, heavy highway use tax and other returns as assigned. The tax analyst will prepare payment requests, reconcile account balances, prepare tax exemption certificates, and other tasks to support the tax department's responsibilities. The tax analyst will process tax-related documentation that will include opening, scanning, and validating property tax mailings such as tax bills, assessment notices, and receipts. The position will also print and prepare voucher reports, and address labels, or assist with administrative/clerical duties, as necessary.
Job Requirements
Skills:
- A bachelor's degree Accounting/Finance field.
- Experience in a tax-related position is preferred including basic knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws.
- The tax analyst must work well independently with minimal supervision and possess excellent communication, data entry, and organization skills.
