Mortgage Systems (Encompass) Project Manager

Located in Ionia MI

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates to join our client s Project Services Group in the role of AVP Project Services Manager for our clients Mortgage Services and Systems Division.

This position will provide Project Management functions in support of our client s business objectives and ongoing IT operations. This individual will work under the supervision of the Project Services Manager. The emphasis of this position is to Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor and Close projects for the Business as well as the IT departments.

Role Specific Responsibilities

Create and execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Manage project scope and day-to-day operational aspects and report scope changes appropriately
Effectively applies our methodology, enforces project standards and tools to ensure milestones and project delivery are on time
Lead the project team in discussion and documentation of lessons learned in the form of retrospectives
Identify and analyze risks, create mitigation plans, and manage risks and issues as they occur
Work as a liaison between vendors, project sponsors, and project teams to facilitate effective project management
Resolve and/or escalate issues surrounding a project in a timely manner
Maintain knowledge of industry standard PM practices
Perform basic business analysis when necessary when a separate business analyst is not involved
Assist other Project Managers with issue resolution and best practices
Pursue formal and informal educational opportunities to expand knowledge and improve skills
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in related field, or equivalent experience. Technology-related certifications preferred.
Project management training and certification (e.G., PMP) is desirable.
Experience in Banking/Mortgage Services specifically with ENCOMPASS LENDING PLATFORM is highly desired.
Experience using Office 2003/2007 products required.
Project Management experience such as Planning, Managing Risks, communication, conflict resolution, issues tracking and status tracking (to name a few) is a plus.
Excellent writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, sponsors, marketing, managers, and technical staff
Experience in planning meetings that include the right people and agendas that makes appropriate use of the scheduled time
Experience with identifying and managing project risks and developing mitigation and contingency plans when appropriate
Ability to develop working estimate for the project based on inputs from all project team members
Proficient in the use of appropriate scheduling techniques used to efficiently manage schedules for projects
Ability to identify project stakeholders and establish and execute a communication plan for those stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, to deliver project status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders via project status reports
Proficient in tracking project actual costs and hours against estimates and forecasting when a project may go over budget
Ability to work independently and drive multiple medium to large projects/efforts to completion simultaneously
Proven use of appropriate time management techniques (such as time boxing, to-do managers, etc )
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders
Understands standard budgetary concepts
Skilled at standard computer applications used in project management, such as Microsoft Office, along with the ability to learn new applications with minimal training
Basic familiarity with Business Analysis methods and concepts
Ability to mentor and coach other Project Managers as needed
