Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan s 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Facilities Project Manager with Construction Experience.

DUTIES:

The onsite construction project manager will provide oversight and support services throughout the course of the project. The work will include, but not be limited to the following:

Manage construction progress to insure the highest levels of quality workmanship and adherence to the specifications and drawings. The Project Manager (PM) should have a minimum of two (2) years of experience with similar projects and responsibilities.
PM will act as an onsite communication liaison, will conduct safety, health, and environmental observations and assure compliance, will facilitate progressive construction scheduling and monitor progress of construction milestones to assure timeliness of work.
PM will assure logistical coordination between plant operations and Owner' s General Contractor, will attend daily start up meeting with owner' s plant operations personnel, including review of activity log for daily work, and will provide site orientation and safety training for all owner' s general contractor employees.
PM will add value engineering where needed in project to reduce overall project costs, will attend/conduct weekly construction meetings, and will provide support to review samples, schedules, shop drawings, requests for information (RFI' s). Provide clarifications, and bulletins as required, in order to insure timely completion of the project and in conformance with the drawings and specifications.
PM will issue bulletins to adapt to field conditions or changes requested, will prepare change orders submitted by owner' s general contractor to be reviewed by owner, and will perform final field inspection and assist in the preparation of the final punch list.

SKILLS:

Monitor and control planning and execution of various project activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, scope and quality goals are maintained.

Act as the customer' s single point of contact for the project.

Ability to function and lead in a team environment, and manage multiple statewide capital projects and their associated deliverables from initiation through closeout.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of design and construction of mechanical/electrical/civil/structural systems

Familiarity with Construction Safety Standards

Familiarity with Microsoft Project

EDUCATION:

The project manager should have a minimum of two (2) years of experience with similar projects and responsibilities. 4 year degree required.
