Enterprise Solutions Architect
The basic function of this position is to lead the functional research; architect solutions that fulfill strategic business requirements and serve as a subject matter expert in the implementation of new technologies in order to successfully enable technology activities critical to the client' s success as the industry leader.
Analyze current business processes along with existing technology platforms, manage the creation of a strategic enterprise architecture approach that satisfies business requirements and oversee the implementation.
Forecast technical project resource requirements, assist Product Owners in developing business impacts, facilitate strategic product release planning and act as a liaison to the Information Technology group as a whole.
Assist Product Managers in project organization and planning and in resolving issues impacting successful completion of assigned projects and also interact with employees, external clients and vendors.
Additionally, will provide guidance, leadership and develop architecture standards for all systems and applications.
Monitor and review existing and emerging application development activities for adherence to the architecture standards, and provide specific recommendations in the management of technology and product development projects.
Ability to demonstrate strong reasoning and analytical skills resulting in in-depth analysis of the operational and functional aspects of technical solutions.
Ability to research, recommend and architect complex new solutions within a dual-site high-volume, 24 X 7 data center.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with individuals and/or groups and give presentations utilizing various audio/visual support aids.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deal effectively with senior management, staff members, clients, and vendors.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions that will have a significant impact on the organization.
Ability to utilize personal computer, telephone, facsimile, copier, calculator and other general office equipment.
Ability to travel as needed.
Manage the creation of the business and enterprise architecture for all new technology solutions.
Create and implement enterprise/business architecture policies utilizing best practices that ensure that all solutions will be delivered in a manner that allows client to maintain market leadership.
Monitor the progress of development projects and assist in the resolution of issues and delays impacting the successful conclusion of the project. Serve as the subject matter expert on assigned projects.
Forecast resource utilization and capacity. Establish and maintain a planning process to forecast project timelines and/or identify additional resources requirements.
Oversee solution initiatives between in-house developers, third-party applications developers and outside consultants.
Critique completed projects to determine variations from established processes and identify opportunities for process and architectural standards improvement.
Resolve issues arising from requests to change business specifications or defined tasks.
Monitor new technological advances in application development and Information Technologies through professional groups, trade publications, and personal networking. Recommend and plan for the adoption of appropriate new technologies.
Provide enterprise and business architecture direction and leadership to various groups including Information Technology, Implementations, and Product Management; guide and coach staff in the completion of their daily responsibilities and ensure that established policies and procedures are followed.
Provide enterprise architecture training, guidance and direction to subordinate personnel to assist them in their professional and personal development, particularly with respect to mentoring team members in architecture and analysis processes, enterprise design and strategic solution planning.
Bachelor' s Degree in Information Technologies or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA Preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years diversified business experience required with eight (8) years experience in the Information Technology industry required with progressively increasing levels of technical responsibility.
Proven experience creating and managing architecture standards and governance issues.
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in the financial services industry.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in managing all phases of complex technology projects including the selection, implementation and support of various technology solutions and applications deployed through the use of local and wide area networks and integration with host-based legacy systems, with a particular emphasis on services based approaches (i.E. SOAP, REST, WOA).
Minimum of five (5) years experience in functional analysis, business design and enterprise architecture of complex applications incorporating management of the full system design including relational database design, infrastructure design, OS choices, capacity planning, server sizing, transaction severs, server mirroring and load balancing, fault-tolerance, data integrity, system security, etc. Experience with data warehousing and data mining is strongly desired.
Strong project management, time management and organizational skills required, including proven experience with effective facilitation (internal consulting) skills within a large organization.
Proven leadership skills and strong analytical and organizational skills required
