POSITION SUMMARY

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the full administration process for employee benefits and discount programs, leaves of absence, workers compensation and safety programs. The Benefits Administrator will also be trained as the back-up for payroll processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Benefit Administration
: Facilitate benefits and new hire paperwork segment of the New Employee Orientation.

: Assist employees with enrollment, benefits questions, claims, and concerns, liaison between employee and broker and/or carrier.

: Administer on-line enrollment process for new hires, employee events/changes, termination and open enrollment, in accordance with the process and procedures of the HRIS system, benefit carriers, and other third-party vendors.

: Coordinate transfer of data to carriers and other third-parties that are not integrated with HRIS.

: Manage vendor relationships with all carriers, broker and other third-party vendors.

: Create reports and audit on-line enrollment and payroll for accuracy.

: Audit monthly benefit-related invoices, submit for timely payment and notify carriers of discrepancies.

: Monitor the COBRA process through third-party vendor.

: Coordinate and manage the annual open enrollment process for active and COBRA participants by establishing a timeline, working with broker to develop materials, develop communication, work with broker to coordinate meetings (if applicable) or videos, .

: Facilitate the coordination of and ensure that the Section 125 5500 is filed.

: Participate in planning of wellness initiatives, coordinate with carriers and other third-party vendors, set-up schedules and manage the event.

: Serve as Plan Administrator and communicator for the 401(k) plan.

: Day to day administration of the 401(k) plan.

: Facilitate the 401(k) testing and annual audit.

: Maintain up-to-date plan documents for all benefits on the HRIS portal, and other company electronic platforms.

: Oversee the compliance and implementation of all required ACA reporting.

: Update the HRIS system for new plan year and validate it' s functionality and accuracy, in partnership with the third-party vendor.

: Maintain employee benefit files.

: Identify, implement, and maintain employee discount programs.

: Working knowledge, understanding, and application of U.S. Laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, FMLA, COBRA, and other applicable to areas of responsibility.

: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of employees and external contacts.
: Strong administrative and organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.

: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
: Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience
: Three or more years of benefit administration.
: CEBS, PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred.
: Payroll experience a plus.
